Mithila is a municipality in Danusha District of south-eastern Terai area in Nepal. After the government announcement, the municipality was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the existing Begadawar, Nakatajhijh and Dhalkebar village development committees (VDCs).
Mr. Mahendra Mahato is the elected Mayor from the Nepali Congress Party for Mithila municipality, elected first time. Formerly he served as a Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, where he served for 28 years. . He started his political career with the Trade Union Congress affiliated with Nepali Congress Party.. As the mayor, he is focused to bring changes in life of the people through development ofinfrastructure, education, agriculture, and health sector.
